100 Days on Chunk How to Get the Artifact
Farm desert chunks, chase legendary rolls, open chests, and unlock later boss progression.
Why the Artifact matters
In 100 Days on Chunk, the Artifact is a late-mid progression key. Early bosses lean on Bones; later set pieces—especially Ancient Ruins / Pharaoh-style content—ask for an Artifact plus desert materials like sand. Players with full diamond kits still fail these crafts when they never rolled a meaningful desert loop.
This guide focuses on where Artifacts actually show up in runs: desert biome chunks, higher rarity / legendary desert outcomes, and chests on sand platforms. Pair it with Bosses and Raids before you spend the Artifact on a fight you cannot finish.
Desert chunks are the main farm
Craft and place desert biome chunks when your base can afford a new pad. Desert is not only sand decoration—it is the biome players associate with Artifact drops and sand stockpiles for Ancient Ruins recipes.
Desert farming habits:
- Place desert in daylight with same-day walls; sand pads near the void are deadly during hunter raids.
- Clear the entire chunk: surface props, buried chests, rim nodes, and any special containers.
- Keep inventory slots open. An Artifact left on the ground during a night wipe is a run-killer.
- Store Artifacts in a labeled chest far from raid chokepoints so a gate breach does not wipe progression mats.
Early desert can feel “useless” if you only look at sand. Once Pharaoh-style recipes appear, that sand and the Artifact chance become the bottleneck.
Legendary and high-rarity desert
Chunk crafts roll rarities (Common through Legendary). Players report better Artifact luck on stronger desert rolls—especially Legendary Desert. You cannot force Legendary every craft, but you can raise attempts:
- Stabilize food, walls, and a quarry so desert farming is not your only income.
- Craft deserts when you still have fight power left in the day, not at dusk.
- Fully loot each desert before crafting the next—skipping chests wastes the rarity roll.
- Track how many deserts you have cleared; complain about “no Artifact” only after a real sample size.
Legendary Quarry is famous for ores; Legendary Desert is the parallel chase for Artifact hunters. Both rarities are RNG—treat them as odds, not guarantees.
Chests and special containers
Playthroughs and comments repeatedly mention Artifacts inside desert chests, including golden or high-value chests on sand islands. When you land a desert pad:
- Sweep for chests before you start terraforming.
- Bring a teammate in co-op so one player digs while another watches night timers.
- Do not open risky chests mid-raid; clear threats, then loot.
Quarry chests are better for Bones and ores. Do not expect quarry loops to replace desert Artifact hunting.
When to start hunting Artifacts
Do not abandon Bones and your first boss multiplier just to live in the desert. A sensible order:
- Survive early nights with the habits in Getting Started.
- Farm Bones and clear an early boss for a day-multiplier totem (Survive 100 Days).
- Spin up desert pads while your walls and food economy can handle the extra space.
- Bank sand + Artifact, then open Ancient Ruins / Pharaoh content from Bosses and Raids.
If your class is still Explorer, Artifact hunts are slower but possible. Ninja or Vampire make desert clears safer; Engineer speeds crafting gates; Lumberjack funds more chunk rolls. See All Classes and the class tier list.
Spending the Artifact
Artifacts are scarce. Before you craft the boss chunk:
- Confirm the full recipe (Artifact, sand, and other mats).
- Prep weapons, cooked food, bandages, and a repair stack.
- Place the boss chunk where your crossbows and walls can support the fight.
- Plan the totem location after the kill—multipliers raise night pressure.
Do not burn an Artifact on a vanity build. Progression bosses first.
Common Artifact mistakes
- Declaring desert useless after one Common sand pad
- Hunting Artifacts before Bones unlock your first multiplier
- Filling the inventory with sand and leaving no room for the Artifact
- Placing unsecured desert pads that get wiped by hunter raids
- Confusing this game’s Artifact with unrelated Roblox titles
- Waiting for codes—there are no active promos as of October 2026

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where do Artifacts drop?
Primarily from desert biome content—chunk clears, higher-rarity desert rolls, and desert chests. Quarry is better for Bones and ores.
Do I need an Artifact for the first boss?
Early boss crafts usually need Bones first. Artifacts matter for later desert-gated bosses. See Bosses and Raids.
Is Legendary Desert required?
Not strictly required, but players report better Artifact luck on high-rarity desert rolls. Keep crafting and fully looting deserts.
What should I do after I find an Artifact?
Bank it safely, finish the Ancient Ruins / Pharaoh recipe mats, then fight only when walls and food are ready.
