Classes in 100 Days on Chunk

Your class is chosen in the lobby before a run and defines your opening tools, passive bonuses, and how quickly you stabilize food, wood, or combat on a floating chunk above the void. There are seven classes. Six use Gems (or are free); Engineer is the Robux purchase.

This hub is the orientation layer. For the full cost and ability table, open All Classes. For S–C rankings as of October 2026, open the class tier list. For how classes feel across a real clear, pair either page with Getting Started and Survive 100 Days.

Exact star ratings, starter item lists, and passive percentages are spelled out on All Classes. Prices can shift after patches—confirm in the lobby shop before you spend.

How to choose a class

Ask what failed in your last run:

  • Starved before walls were up — Chef’s hunger passive and starter cooked meat buy time.
  • Died to chip damage on night one — Medic’s bandages and heal speed help you recover between waves.
  • Could not expand chunks fast enough — Lumberjack’s axe and chop speed feed wood into new biome platforms.
  • Lost kite fights and void chases — Ninja’s move speed and dodge chance are the usual S-tier answer at 150 Gems.
  • Want a late combat carry — Vampire’s kill feed and 3x sword strike reward aggressive clears.
  • Hate crafting level gates — Engineer’s discounted requirements and starter crossbow shine when you are racing totems and tiered stations.

Explorer remains the correct first pick while you learn daylight building rules, night lockouts, and void edges. Do not feel pressured to buy S-tier on hour one.

Gems, Robux, and codes

Gems come from Badge quests, biome crates, and run payouts—not from working promo codes right now. The Codes Hub tracks promo status (none active as of October 2026) and expands on Gem farming. Engineer skips the Gem sink for a flat 399 Robux purchase if that fits your budget better than grinding 300 Gems for Vampire.

Spending order that works for most accounts: Explorer → optional 75 Gem B-tier (Chef or Medic) → 150 Gem Ninja or Lumberjack → Vampire or Engineer when you are ready for premium power. Match that path to the tier list so you are not copying a YouTuber’s late-game class into a day-three base.

Classes versus other progression systems

A strong class does not craft Bones or Artifacts for you. Boss chunks and later desert bosses still need materials covered in How to Get Bones and How to Get Artifact. Hunter raids and boss arenas are covered in Bosses and Raids. Think of classes as multipliers on top of those systems.

If you were looking for automation instead of class advice, that lives on the Scripts Hub with clear Terms of Service warnings. Class knowledge is the safer advantage.

Pick a class that fixes your real failure point, then invest the time saved into walls, food, and day-multiplier totems.
